Balos Beach
A turquoise lagoon on the west side of the Gramvoussa cape.
Overview
The journey to Balos Beach might be an adventure on its own, but the breathtaking scenery is worth the effort. If you decide to navigate the Gramvousa Peninsula by car, you must commute along a nine-kilometre dirt road. Catching the ferry to the lagoon is far more relaxing.
On arrival, the pristine white sand makes for a dreamy sunbathing spot between swims in the transparent waters. Just know, there's only a small canteen with limited food and drink options, so ideally pack a tasty lunch.
Plan an early morning arrival if you want to avoid the lunchtime crowds.
