Overview

Serving as the seat of the King of Munster for centuries, the Rock of Cashel has a vital place in Irish history.

From a scenic position in County Tipperary's Golden Vale, visitors can admire unrivalled examples of Celtic art and architecture.

For example, Cormac's Chapel dates from 1134 and features some of Ireland's last remaining Romanesque frescoes.
