Overview
Beigel Bake has been the undisputed king of bagels in London's Brick Lane since 1974. It's a no-frills quick-service spot open 24/7, perfect to start your day, finish your shift or soak up your night out. The must-order item? Tender salt beef with dill pickles and a schmear of hot English mustard on a traditional chewy beigel. Extra pickles optional, but encouraged.
The menu rarely changes and features other old-school Jewish fillings like chopped herring or salmon and cream cheese, as well as onion and poppy seed platzel rolls. The cabinet is stuffed with freshly baked sweet treats. Think New York-style cheesecake, jam-filled dougnuts, strudel and danishes. There's no seating here, but you can stand at the little bar if there's space, or take it to go.
