Overview
Britain's most famous street markets stretch along Portobello Road down to Golborne Road, and have been going since the 19th century. On Fridays and Saturdays, the street is packed with traders, including speciality vintage pieces like maps, stamps, jewellery and clothing. You'll also find vinyl, CDs, cassettes, amps and speakers, as well as old cameras. Dig into the treasures and take home a souvenir unlike any other.
There's also local art and handmade homewares — bags, rugs, and organic soaps and beauty products — and a wealth of unusual flea market finds. When you're hungry, there's fresh fruit and veg, imported cheeses and some of London's best street food. As you wander the markets, you'll also pass famous shops, including Rough Trade and The Notting Hill Bookshop, arcades, cafes and bars.
