Overview
Serving as a central hub for gatherings, rituals and ceremonies to honour the gods, the two temples of Ggantija were integral to the fabric of Gozitan life.
Legend has it that they were constructed on Gozo Island by a giantess who subsisted solely on fava beans and honey and bore a child with a commoner.
With her child by her side, she erected these temples, which served as sacred places of worship. The rich history of the site alone is enough to make the trip.
