A night out at Brunswick's Stay Gold usually meant two things: sticky shoes and a great story. Now, the beloved live music venue is coming to an end, having just announced it will close its doors when its lease ends on Sunday, June 21. Fortunately, there's still a chance to get stuck to the floor one last time.

While the news is sad, Stay Gold is definitely going out with a bang, serving up a massive swan-song final month, packed with gigs that capture what has made the venue so special over the years. Featuring a lineup of admired local names and acclaimed overseas acts touring the country, expect wall-to-wall noise and good times.

If you're keen to sweat it up before the curtain falls for good, the stacked lineup sees Frankston indie rockers Stimpies taking to the stage on Friday, June 5. Then, legendary American gore metal band Exhumed turns things up to maximum volume on Saturday, June 6, bringing their grind-laced tunes to the venue.

Later in the month, the long-running AM/PM Emo Night returns on Saturday, June 13, with Brunswick's own Press Club bringing high-octane punk energy on Thursday, June 18. Then, a huge closing party sends the venue off on Saturday, June 20, with the final farewell lineup featuring Ocean Grove, Future Static and a host of still-to-be-announced old friends.

What's more, this last hurrah offers Stay Gold's most loyal fans the chance to take home a cherished keepsake. The first 100 guests through the door score a limited-edition Stay Gold enamel pin, while the venue hosts a raffle to give away the iconic Stay Gold neon sign that has graced its walls from the very beginning.

"When we first walked into 133 Sydney Road, there wasn't a whole lot going on, apart from an unusually large amount of Yeni Raki behind the bar and a space that needed plenty of elbow grease. Since then, the shared memories feel endless," said The Happy Horsemen, the hospitality group behind Stay Gold.

Stay Gold shuts its doors at 133 Sydney Road, Brunswick, on Saturday, June 21, with tickets now available for its final run of live gigs and closing party. Head to the website for more information.
