This Just in: An American Fast Food Chain is Heading to Victoria, and It's Handing out 300 Free Burgers This Week Ahead of Its Launch
Wendy's is taking over the legendary AC/DC Lane for a playful activation a burger Walk-Thru.
Get ready, because American fast food chain Wendy's, famous for its square patties and Frosty thick shakes, is heading down under. The brand is yet to disclose its first Victorian location, but will tease Melburnians with a taste of their grub this week at the Wendy's Walk Thru.
For one day only, on Wednesday, June 10, Wendy's is taking over the legendary AC/DC Lane in the CBD for a playful and fun activation. The lane will be transformed into a functioning pedestrian Walk Thru, complete with a live DJ, street art, a red-headed Wendy's host, and of course, burgers. And not just any burgers, but free ones at that.

The first 300 customers will grab a complimentary, iconic Wendy's burger and a Coca-Cola. But it's first in, best dressed, and you know you're not the only one wanting to get a taste of the fresh, not frozen, burgers up for grabs, so don't dally.
The one-day pop-up is a way to wet Melbourne's appetite ahead of Wendy's official launch in the state. Corina Black, Chief Marketing Officer of Wendy's ANZ, says, "Melbourne is incredibly important to us, and we knew we had to show up in a way that truly honours the city's unique culture. The Wendy's Walk-Thru is a fun celebration to thank the community, but it also signals our commitment to shaking up the fast-food experience with hospitality that puts customers front and centre. We have something very exciting up our sleeve for Victoria, and this is just the beginning."
