The weather might be a little more humid and the landscape a little more tropical, but getting a Melbourne-born coffee is now even more accessible with the arrival of ST. ALi's second Bali outpost. Situated in Jimbaran — an upscale fishing village on the Bukit Peninsula — Samasta Lifestyle Village is where you can find a taste of Melbourne cafe culture — the very same that ST. ALi is often credited with pioneering.

With the brand first landing in Bali in 2024 — opening a landmark location at Futher Hotel in Pererenan — this latest move is another lifestyle-led decision. Of course, sipping coffee will be a main focus. Yet the new space also offers an all-day dining experience that invites guests to kick back and bask in the laidback spirit of Jimbaran, a coastal area growing in popularity for being a more peaceful alternative to Kuta or Uluwatu.

Inside, visitors will encounter the full spectrum of ST. ALi's signature coffees, including its Orthodox and Feels Good blends. The cafe also features a rotating selection of seasonal single-origin coffees and filter options for those looking to delve a little deeper, plus signature and special drinks created by head barista Alex Wang, including a strawberry cloud matcha and a salted caramel panna cotta.

Likewise, the all-day brunch menu combines long-time favourites and new creations exclusive to the Jimbaran location. Think ST ALi's Fish O' Fillet — a tapioca-crusted barramundi number served with house-made tartare, Emmental cheese and fries, alongside its Omelette Arnold Bennett, featuring flaked tongkol and rich bechamel sauce, and an elevated crab soufflé with thermidor sauce and a parmesan crisp.

Designed for idle lingering between walks on the beach or as somewhere to escape the midday heat, ST ALi Jimbaran takes inspiration from the concept of 'tropical composure', aka contemporary design that embraces its sun-kissed surroundings. Brimming with natural materials, including wood, rattan, stone and marble, the finer details like dark leather banquettes, soaring arches and bursts of greenery make for a relaxed space.

Now with two cafes in Indonesia, ST ALi has also taken its coffee to other destinations in Asia, opening two cafes in the Philippines' capital, Manila, since 2024. With the region quickly becoming a dominant player in global coffee consumption — Indonesia's domestic consumption alone has tripled since pre-pandemic years — it makes perfect sense for the OG Melbourne coffee brand to fly the flag for our cafe culture overseas.

ST ALi Jimbaran is now open at Samasta Lifestyle Village, Jimbaran. Head to the website for more information.
