Music festival season will soon be upon us, so that means the lineup drops are now coming thick and fast. The latest is Meredith Music Festival — one of the most anticipated on the calendar — and it's safe to say Aunty has blessed us again.
Returning to the much-loved Supernatural Amphitheatre over a truly stacked weekend of Friday, December 11–Sunday, December 13, this year's headliners include Melbourne-born garage rockers Eddy Current Suppression Ring — a decade on from their Golden Plains 2016 appearance.
Meanwhile, alt-R&B and neo-soul star Dijon is joined by 90s-inspired dance music outfit Fcukers, hyperpop-meets-indie pop act underscores, and alternative rock legends The Dandy Warhols. Of course, the lineup only gets more eclectic from here (and a few more surprises are still in the works).
Think Hiatus Kaiyote, DJ Seinfeld, Show Me the Body, D Train & Mondo Freaks, and Blue Communications, plus loads more. Whether you're tapped into every name or only one or two faintly ring a bell, the beauty of Meredith is that the festival rocks no matter who's on the lineup.
Along with the talent reveal, the first ballot also dropped. Didn't score tickets? There's still another coming up fast, while the online sale happens at 11am on Thursday, August 27. A sell-out is virtually guaranteed, so don't dally if you're keen to call the amphitheatre home for the weekend.
And as always, the long-standing 'No Dickhead Policy' makes a welcome return, where keeping your head pulled in is firmly encouraged. As the festival says: "If you behave like a dickhead, this place isn't for you. If you have a mate who behaves like a dickhead, please leave them at home."
