Sibling to King & Godfree Deli and Espresso Bar below, Johnny's Green Room is a sunny, relaxed rooftop bar with stunning views across Melbourne. Open from noon til late, daily, it's serving up a Euro-centric cocktail lineup — including negronis ($20), tapped Aperol spritz ($14) and juicy blood orange sours ($20) — as well as a slew of local and international beer and wine.

You're able to eat up here, too. Take a seat on one of the banquettes — made from repurposed terrazzo steps — and dig in to classic-leaning pizzas, like the Puttanesca ($21) and the prosciutto-topped Nonno Carlo ($23). Snacks run to the likes of a calamari fritti ($19) and full-flavoured pizza bombs ($12), and you'll find a sophisticated burger ($26) created in collaboration with the legendary Donati's butcher across the road. What's more, the kitchen's dishing up $10 pizzas, all day, every Monday.

While this venue doesn't have the pool tables and gangsters of the eponymous Johnny's, it does have something of a stylish Italian nightclub vibe, with a varied lineup of resident DJs — as chosen by non-profit Hope Street Radio — taking to the decks regularly. What's more, you can expect plenty of high-energy rooftop parties happening throughout the year.
