Code Black continues to expand its coffee empire, opening its eighth location to delighted coffee connoisseurs in Cremorne. Located on the corner of Fitzgibbon and Dover Streets, Code Black joins the blossoming hospitality precinct home to beloved Baker Bleu and Suuppa.
Code Black is a speciality coffee roaster, founded in Brunswick in 2012, that aims to make high-end coffee more accessible through research, careful sourcing, and deep knowledge of the product and craft. The Cremorne store joins outlets across Melbourne spanning the CBD, South Melbourne, North Melbourne and Southbank.
The new addition to its stable of cafes maintains Code Black's signature distinctive style and vibe, with the Cremorne space particularly leaning into an otherworldly, spacey feel. A monochrome colour palette, deep blacks, and reflective metal surfaces create an industrial yet welcoming space designed by architects We Are Humble.
Signature drinks include a coconut cold brew and a Dirty Pistachio made with pistachio coconut milk, pandan and panela cream. There's also single-origin coffee and a curated selection of batch brews on tap. For brunch, go sweet with honey toast loaded with strawberries, ricotta, and hazelnuts, or savoury with avocado, Sicilian pesto, and goat's cheese on pumpkin bread.
A suitable selection of sandwiches, sweet treats and pastries is a great grab-and-go option for local office workers, but if you've got a minute, grab a table, experiment with a new coffee, enjoy a tasty meal, and zone out in the tranquil space.
