Overview
Watch powerful true stories unfold on the big screen at the Australian International Documentary Conference. Taking place this year between February 28 and March 2, the event is the premier forum for non-fiction filmmaking in the Asia-Pacific region, featuring speakers, delegates and world-class filmmakers from all around the world.
Although primarily an industry affair, this year's conference features a number of public events. Chief among them is a small but impressive film lineup at ACMI, headlined by the harrowing rape-on-campus documentary The Hunting Ground and the controversial 2010 doco Catfish. The latter will be shown with a live, in-person audio commentary by the film's producer Marc Smerling and editor Zac Stuart-Pontier. There will also be a free showcase of short-form documentaries, held outdoors on the big screen in Federation Square.
