Overview

Melbourne's Fitzroy and Sydney's Newtown are arguably cut from the same cloth — a statement well supported by the Best Served Loud series, which is being thrown by Sydney brewers Young Henrys. Kicking off in Fitzroy North's Tramway Hotel on Saturday, March 23, the series celebrates the strong and resilient live music scenes which provide threads of creative energy throughout Australia's two biggest cities.

"Bands should always get paid, music should always be accessible and venues need to be supported to remain open. This is us playing our part in that ecosystem" said Young Henrys co-founder Oscar McMahon speaking about the series.

The free monthly gigs will be scattered across Melbourne favourites like The Standard Hotel, Nighthawks, Bendigo Hotel and Northcote Social Club. On Saturday the four-person Jade Imagine band will be heading up the event, supported by indie artist Gena Rose Bruce to follow.
