A good chunk of winter has been taken up by lockdowns in Melbourne with our season tally currently at three. So, it's safe to say we're more than ready for whatever happier times spring has in store. Like, for example, the stunning annual Blossom Festival that's set to descend on Cherryhill Orchards for two weeks of quintessential springtime revelry.

From Saturday, September 18–Sunday, October 3, the Yarra Ranges orchard will come alive to celebrate the new cherry blossom season — but there's much more on offer here than an abundance of beautiful blooms. Visitors will be able to enjoy cherry-infused sips, cherry ice cream and plenty of live tunes while they stroll through the rows of blossoming trees.

Once you've worked up an appetite, you can throw down a rug and soak up some spring sunshine while feasting your way through a pre-ordered Uminono sushi box, luxury picnic set-up, or something from the day's food truck lineup. And if the superb scenery has inspired your creative side, there's also a program of hands-on family-friendly workshops running through the festival, covering everything from flower crown creation to beekeeping basics.

Adult general admission is $12.50, with various experiences and food packages available to add to your booking. There's even a hot air balloon flight courtesy of Global Ballooning, if you fancy arriving in style.
