Hyundai Australia Boardriders Battle Series 12 Grand Final Presented by NRMA Insurance

Few pastimes are as intrinsically Aussie as surfing. And like all great pursuits, surfing goes all out. Enter the Hyundai Australia Boardriders Battle Series, the series where great surfers go head-to-head, representing their hometown Boardriders Club in a place where the surfing community can come together as one. Series 12 has been running throughout 2024, but the grand final is set to take place on Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9, with a special setup from Jim Beam ready to bring surfers and surfing fans together and make the event unmissable — so gather your mates and get ready for what will undoubtedly be a swell time.

Throughout the weekend, representatives from 42 boardrider clubs will come together on the breakers of Burleigh Heads, surfing until only one club takes home national glory. Each surfer will face the famous Burleigh rock jump, the waves, and then a 500-metre sprint back up the hill where the clubs can cheer them to the finish line.

It's set to be action-packed, and the top views (and vibes) will be available at the Jim Beam activation. This rooftop setup will offer the ultimate mix of cool RTD beverages and prime views of the ABB action, plus vibey live music, food trucks and appearances from surfing legends from across Australia.

It's not all just to spectate the championship, though. Every afternoon over the weekend from 5.30pm onwards, Jim Beam will be hosting sunset sessions with a live DJ and kombi van pouring ice-cold serves of Jim Beam and Cola all afternoon.

While every surf bar needs decor on theme, Jim Beam is taking it up a notch. At the centre of the space, standing tall, will be the 'Together Board', the result of a collaboration between Jim Beam and board shaper Nev Hyman. A 20-foot board built for a ride best enjoyed together, it's designed for up to five people to surf the waves as one, so you won't be able to miss it. The Together Board and some of Hyman's other famous designs will be on display all weekend, including special meet and greets with the legend himself on Saturday afternoon.
