Overview

With the latest Johnny's Green Room Sunday Service upon us, the guests of honour won't have to travel far to touchdown at the Carlton rooftop hang. Just around the corner, then a straight shot down Johnston Street, Stefanino Panino e Vino is leaving behind its Collingwood Yards digs on Sunday, June 21, offering up their beloved Italian sangies at Johnny's for one afternoon only.

Taking over Johnny's kitchen rooftop, Stefanino owner-operator Stef Condello will serve two of his creations: the Bologna with peppercorn mortadella and stracciatella, and the Verdure stacked with marinated eggplant, roasted peppers and basil. Plus, guests can take a big bite into Johnny's Green Room culinary director Karen Martini's polpette ripiene meatball panino.

On the drinks front, Campari is helping keep the Italian theme going, with the bar pouring $15 negronis and Campari spritzes. Meanwhile, you can sip back on Aperol spritzes, Johnny's Lager and an alc-free Crodino bitter spritz, or choose anything else from Johnny's expansive Med-inspired selection.

Of course, a Sunday service also requires the right kind of tunes. Getting behind the decks is Rick Howe, the DJ behind PBS 106.7's Riddim Yard, aka Melbourne's home of roots, dub and rocksteady. With Howe spinning an all-vinyl set from 12–5pm, let's hope for sunny weather, so you can see out the weekend with an afternoon boogie on Johnny's terraza.
