Overview

Playwright Dan Giovannoni draws on personal family history in a new show premiering at Red Stitch Actors Theatre. Performed in both English and Italian by Red Stitch regulars Jordan Fraser-Trumble and Olga Makeeva alongside guest actors Devon Lang Wilton, Caroline Lee, Edward Orton and Joe Petruzzi, Jurassica tells the story of a multi-generational migrant family, and in doing so ponders what exactly it means to have a home.

Inspired by his grandparents, who migrated from Italy to Melbourne in the years following WWII, Giovannoni spent two years developing the script with the assistance of the Red Stitch Writers program. Bridget Balodis directs in her first production for Red Stitch, having previously directed shows as part of Next Wave and Melbourne Fringe. She also participated in the Melbourne Theatre Company's Women Directors' Program.
