Lungs — MTC
Take a deep breath.
Overview
Word of advice: if there are any major life decisions you need to make with your partner, perhaps you shouldn't bring them up while queuing at IKEA. And yet, that's exactly where M is standing when he suggests to his partner W that the two of them should think about having a baby. So begins Lungs, the critically acclaimed stage play from British playwright Duncan Macmillan, which makes its Australian debut at the Melbourne Theatre Company on February 5.
Kate Atkinson and Bert LaBonté star as the indecisive couple in question, whose fears and anxieties come bubbling to the surface as they consider starting a family. With the planet in such a bad state already, what is the moral cost of bringing a new life into the world? Lungs shapes up as a funny, poignant look at one of the most importance choices two people can ever make.
