Momo Fest 2020 — POSTPONED

UPDATE: MARCH 16, 2020 — Organisers have announced that Momo Fest has been postponed until further notice "due to uncertainty created by coronavirus outbreak around the world". New dates will be announced in the future — we'll update you when they come to hand.

The dazzling sights and insane aromas of Nepal are returning to Melbourne for the fourth time this autumn. This time round, though, Momo Fest will take over a new location for two whole days. Footscray Park will become a celebration of Nepalese culture, Nepalese music and — perhaps most importantly — Nepalese food on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5.

The event will feature more than 30 different varieties of momo (that is, Nepalese dumpling), with momo competitions, vegan momos, goat momos and even brunch momos. There'll also be live music, including bands, DJS, roving performers and dancers. And, you can bring your pooch, too — the event is dog-friendly (and fully licensed).

Entry into the event will cost $5, but you'll need a bit more than that to dig into as many momos as you can handle.

Momo Fest will run from 5–10pm Saturday and midday–10pm Sunday.
