Overview

With the NBA Playoffs currently in full swing, there's every chance you've been spending a lot of recent mornings glued to the TV. However, now is the time to get even closer to the action, as NBA House is set to make an all-star Australian debut at The Timber Yard from Thursday, May 14–Sunday, May 17. Following editions in Brazil, China, Mexico and beyond, this immersive basketball experience and fan event brings a stacked four-day lineup that goes well beyond shooting hoops.

Making the trip to Australia are two-time NBA All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Utah Jazz and four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins, who'll both be in the house for VIP meet-and-greets. Meanwhile, this sprawling 6000-square-metre space will host jam-packed daily programming, including Playoff watch parties and live music performances from the likes of DJ Nino Brown (May 14), Baker Boy (May 15) and Tye Turner (May 17), with more to be announced.

Plus, expect streetwear showcases, photo opps with the Larry O'Brien Trophy, an NBA 2K26 gaming zone, and a three-on-three celebrity game featuring Nick Kyrgios, Brooke Blurton and Ash Wicks, with Jackson Jr. and Cousins calling the shots from the sidelines as coaches. Then, the Sacramento Kings Entertainment Crew is keeping the high-energy vibes going, with performances by much-loved mascot Slamson, the Kings Dancers and the Kings dunk team.

With daytime and evening sessions available — running from 11am–5pm and 6pm–close, respectively — this family-friendly experience is an unmissable way to get immersed in NBA culture. "Basketball has taken me all over the world, and I'm thankful it's now given me the opportunity to visit Melbourne for NBA House," said Cousins.  "I can't wait to meet Australian fans and experience the NBA Playoffs together."
