Overview

Two of Melbourne's best barbecue joints will fight for their place in the pecking order, at a no-holds-barred chook cook off at Belleville in the CBD. The second edition of Poultry Slam will see the chefs at Belleville pit their Asian-inspired chicken against the American-style bird bits from Bluebonnet Barbecue. And the best part? You get to pick the winner.

The fight for the ultimate clucking rights goes down on Saturday, July 16, from noon until you've split your belt buckle clean in two. Expect dishes including smokey beer can chicken, crispy Vietnamese-style duck, and dessert made with honest-to-God chicken crackling. Point is, no matter who takes out the prize, you will be the true winner.

Tickets to Poultry Slam cost $65 for six courses (food only), or $100 with matching beers by craft brewers La Sirene. Seatings will be at 1pm and 5pm sharp. Now flock to it.
