Overview
Now that we're in the midst of winter, gathering for a feast inspired by fire and smoke might be the best way to warm up. Happening at Mister Bianco at 7pm on Tuesday, June 23, Charlie Brings the Fire to Mister Bianco sees the much-loved Kew restaurant host guest chef, Charlie Carrington, for an intimate one-night dining experience.
Not for the first time, Carrington is teaming up with Mister Bianco owner-chef Joe Vargetto, with the gun talent behind the recently closed globally-inspired Atlas Dining joining forces with one of the OGs of Melbourne's Italian food scene. Together, this talented duo will serve a flame-kissed menu that leans into wood-fired and smoky goodness, alongside Sicilian flavours and cool-season produce grown in the Yarra Valley.
On the night, guests are in for a seasonal four-course spread, guided both by Carrington's affinity for cooking over flames and Vargetto's signature Sicilian flavours. Expect kingfish crudo, grilled octopus, smoked beef cheek, grilled Wagyu, and wood-oven-roasted pears. Meanwhile, Yarra Valley Dairy will also feature throughout the menu, celebrating exceptional local cheese and regional craftsmanship.
Also joining the fun is Zonzo Estate, with the renowned Yarra Glen-based winery elevating the evening with thoughtfully paired wines. As you dine, some light commentary will lift the veil on the varietals and stories that reflect the region's warmth, character and landscape. Tickets are $125 per person.
