Tiny Furniture at Speakeasy Cinema

Wednesdays and Sundays get a little better as Speakeasy Cinema at Shebeen returns with some new films bound to push the limits. Housed in the cinema space below Shebeen, the not-for-profit bar, the scene is already interesting. Their films are not your usual finds. Cult flick Room 237 discusses the conspiracies theories around The Shining, Los Chidos challenges misogyny and homophobia while presenting an interesting take on the Latino culture and Self Made picks seven everyday people from hundreds of entries and crafts them in a way that places you as the voyeur.

Opening night will feature Tiny Furniture, the feature film from Lena Dunham of Girls fame. It feels a little like you're watching Hannah struggle through life all over again but also gives you insight into just how Dunham came to create Girls. It's a must for fans who are waiting anxiously for season three to start. As well as the film, you can enjoy in-cinema dining and a pre- and post-film program of Dunham's shorts, webseries and an interview between her and Nora Ephron.
