Melbourne's Wings Of Glory Opens Second American-Style Chicken Wing Joint
They're bringing their crowd-pleasing nosh to the CBD — including $1 wings on Wednesdays.
It seems there's no stopping the chicken craze, and Melbourne's Wings of Glory is taking full advantage of it, this week opening a second location in the CBD. In addition to their flagship on Clarendon Street, they've expanded to Little Lonsdale Street, with the same fiery American-style chicken wings that have made them South Melbourne favourites.
"We will promote the same ambience as our South Melbourne venue and encourage an indoor/outdoor feel," says co-founder Jennifer Lo. "We get it right, keep it simple and keep the costs reasonable for those who want to just simply enjoy buffalo wings, just like in America."
Also carrying over to the second shopfront is their much-celebrated 'fury challenge', in which brave participants down a dozen super hot wings in under four minutes. The sauce is four times hotter than their standard, and showcases the formidable Bhut Jolokia, aka the Ghost Pepper, which is ranked among the top ten hottest chillies in the world.
If you need any more convincing, every Wednesday after 5pm, you can get $1 wings, perfect for a cheap post-work feed. Of course, there is beer too, with American amber ales, IPA's, alcoholic ginger beer and Melbourne craft beer populating the drinks menu.
The new Wings Of Glory store is now open at 288 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. For more info, visit wingsofglory.com.au.
