Centre Road, Bentleigh, is the lucky recipient of a new Italian, fast–food–style eatery: PRONTO 478. The laid-back yet energetic shop will showcase Italian street food, all made fast and fresh with quality ingredients. 

PRONTO 478 is the latest venture from the team behind award-winning SHOP 225 and Il Caminetto, named Victoria's Best Pizza 2026, Best Pizza in Australia 2025, and Best Pasta in Australia 2026. With the new venue, the team will bring their signature blend of authentic Italian fare and a warm and welcoming atmosphere to Bentleigh. 

"In Italy, food brings people together. Whether you're grabbing something on your lunch break or sitting down with family at the end of the day, every meal is an opportunity to connect, laugh and enjoy the moment. With PRONTO478, we wanted to capture that spirit. We've taken the quality and authenticity people know from SHOP 225 and Il Caminetto and created a place that's fast, affordable and full of heart. We can't wait to welcome the Bentleigh community and share a little piece of Italy with them," says co-owners Lorenzo Tron and Roberto Davioli.

At the heart of the offering is the sorriso, set to be a new snack obsession. The beloved Roman street food is like a lovechild between a panino and a pizza. Alongside it, find pizza al taglio sold by the slice, crisp arancini, crunchy calamari, fried pasta bites, caprese salad and eggplant parmigiana. Come evening, get thin, crisp, Roman-style pizza either to enjoy in store, or on the couch at home. 

To celebrate its launch on Saturday, July 18, PRONTO478 will hand out free food (one item per customer) to the first 478 customers through the doors.
