SOL Elements, Australia's First Floating Bathhouse, Unveils Sound Healing, Tea Ceremonies and a Zen Couples' Sanctuary

SOL Elements' geometric, elements-inspired bathhouse is a front-running luxury escape for weekenders seeking stillness. Striking facilities like a botanical bar that preps bathers for a soak in communal 38-degree magnesium pools and cold plunges, a cedar sauna surrounded by tranquil Tamborine Mountain and two caves – one built for floating with 39 per cent magnesium salts – sit in a circular structure suspended on a lake.
For its first birthday this August, two new features have debuted within SOL Elements: a floating sound-and-ceremony platform for a rotation of rituals, and a standalone private suite dedicated to couples. The floating sound-and-ceremony platform is a stage for sound artists, intimate performances and professional sound healers like Los Angeles' renowned Gabriel Logan Braun, who will soundtrack a day of soaks, spa and sauna. With full 360-degree views of the rainforest canopy, the platform will also host guided tea ceremonies rooted in Japanese traditions.
"The intention of the platform is to bring sound, water, and nature together, moving beyond a beautiful backdrop and instead bringing Lotus Lake into the overarching wellness experience," says Shae Raven, who co-founded SOL with her partner Russell Raven.
Just a short stroll from the main bathhouse, the Couples Massage and Alchemy Suite is perched on the lake's edge. The zen addition features softly lit quartz benchtops equipped with sound-healing bowls, alongside the usual menu of aromatherapy and hot-stone rituals. It's the designated suite for all couples' treatments, such as the nervous-system-resetting Couples Bioenergetic Aromatic Massage – $440 for 70 minutes – which activates pulse points through deep-tissue techniques.
Russell points out that the suite can work for wellness dates of all sorts, including weekends with the bestie, mother-daughter trips or sibling shenanigans. "When we say couples, we don't necessarily mean romantic couples", he says.
SOL Elements opens at 9am daily and closes at 7.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8pm on Friday, and 7pm on Sunday. Book your soak via the website.
