Overview
Acoustic guitars, breathy voices and melodic tales of love and hardship will be on the menu as the Auckland Folk Festival rolls into town this Anniversary Weekend.
For its 43rd year, the festival will run over three consecutive days showcasing a wide range of folk music, from contemporary through bluegrass, Irish and traditional, from here and further abroad. This year's lineup features a who's who of folk artists across five stages, including 'The Don' himself Don McGlashan, Rachel Dawick, Kirsty Bromley, Fourwinds, Adam McGrath, The Stove, Jon Sanders, Great North, Wai. Tai, Dave Khan, The Frank Burkitt Band, Dave Alley, Supersheep, Ryreton Hall and Shima's List.
The event will conclude with a presentation of the Recorded Music NZ Tui award for best Folk Album.
