Overview
A handful of acts have been announced for the Splore Music and Arts Festival, set to be held at Tapapakanga Regional Park over three days next February, 2014.
Making their first appearance on NZ soil next summer will be The Funk Hunters, boasted as one of Canada’s busiest electronic acts. The duo will perform two sets at Splore with a synched visual show.
Usually going under the pseudonyms Taipanic and Tony Rotton, but for his New Zealand debut, the UK's original "Hip Hop Geezer", will be performing as Blak Twang. Twang is known for his usage of South London slang, and has collaborated with the likes Roots Manuva and Talib Kweli among others. At Splore 2014 he will be joined by fellow Brit DJ/producer Shortee Blitz.
Local acts confirmed include Wellington 9-piece, Brockaflowersaurus featuring vocalists, Louis Baker, Estere Dalton and Zoe Mahal. Nick D and Dick Johnson’s afro-caribbean influenced group Weird Together and Berlin-based producer Scratch 22 will also be performing during the weekend.
