Tuatara Open Late
After-hours music, talks and craft beer at the art gallery.
Overview
This Thursday, 1 April, City Gallery Wellington welcomes back its after-hours event series.
Tuatara Open Late sees the contemporary gallery's exhibition halls stay open later than usual for a curated program of art, music, film, talks, beer, wine and food. This month, visitors have the opportunity to explore Every Artist and Marianna Simnett: CREATURE.
At 6pm, musicians Andrew Laking and Nigel Collins will present a sound and art performance based on picture book for adults, High Wire, by Lloyd Jones and Euan Macleod. Following the performance at 6pm, art critic Lana Lopesi will discuss Pacific arts legacies and her life and work with Megan Dunn. Then at 8.30pm, Hawaiian-born singer-songwriter Zoe Moon will dig into her songbook, which explores the nuances of identity, life and self-love.
Throughout the evening, visitors can enjoy tunes from DJ Don Luchito and supper treats from Firebird. The cash bar will be pouring drops from Tuatara and Seresin Estate. Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19 alert levels, booking is advised.
