More Eateries Have Been Announced for Auckland's New Two-Level Food Hall
Commercial Bay is set to be one of the biggest dining hubs in Auckland central.
Upon completion in spring, or thereabouts, Commercial Bay is set to be one of the biggest dining hubs in Auckland central. Already announced for the city's new transportation hub is an 800-seat food hall, a restaurant named after two prize-winning racehorses, two international bars and openings from Al Brown and Josh Emett. Now, a further selection of eateries have been announced for the precinct.
As well as a yet-to-be-revealed opening from Ben Bayly at the precinct's terrace site, new eateries are set to land from the creators of Parnell's Simon & Lee. Owners Oliver Simon and David Lee are scheduled to take over two spaces at Commercial Bay, including one specialising in modern Korean cuisine and a second in the Harbour Eats food hall.
The Harbour Eats concept, designed by New York-based hospitality design firm AvroKO, will apparently reimagine the food hall experience. It will be open all day, with food available from morning until late night, and it will come with views across the Waitematā harbour.
Also announced today for the sprawling two-level dining precinct is another outpost of Auckland Middle Eastern favourite Fatima's; contemporary Chinese restaurant Sunnytown which comes by way of Beijing; Mediterranean-inspired eatery Gusstop which specialises in salads and sandwiches; a second edition of Brothers Beer's low 'n' slow barbecue spot Juke Joint; the ninth eatery for Wellington chain Aroy Thai; plus Vietnamese restaurant Nam Nam.
Shoppers wanting to grab a quick bite will also have the option of dropping by coffee roasters Kōkako, picking up a salad bowl from Cali Press, indulging in Taiwanese fried chicken from Kai Eatery or enjoying made-to-order pasta from local food truck Got Pasta. See the full list of vendors below.
The outlets join Brad Farmerie's New York restaurant Saxon + Parole, Mexican-influenced tequila and mezcal bar Ghost Donkey, London off-license cocktail bar Genuine Liquorette and The Lodge Bar at Rodd & Gunn fronted by Kiwi chef Matt Lambert.
