Overview

Combine a recipe dating back to the Second World War with 100-percent Western Australian grains and a passion for making standout handcrafted spirits, and that's Whipper Snapper Distillery. Founded in 2013, it doesn't just take inspiration from two WWII pilots, but also it uses their whiskey formula — as refined over the years — to whip up its beverage of choice.

Located in East Perth, this urban distillery has multiple varieties of whiskey on its lineup. That includes Australia's first quinoa whiskey, which is clearly something you don't get to sip every day. Also on offer is moonshine, whether you're after a crystal-clear drop or prefer a straw-coloured, barrel-aged type.

Whipper Snapper Distillery is open for tours, and features a whiskey and coffee bar that serves up tastings and caffeinated brews seven days a week.
