Overview

Clear your calendars from Friday, February 6 to Sunday, March 1, because Perth Festival is back in town. This year, you can expect more First Nations voices, provocative conversations, powerful documentaries, a cracking music lineup, and mind-blowing technology exhibitions.

The program packs some heavy musical punches. There are surf rock legends from northeast Arnhem Land, King Stingray, who take to the East Perth Power Station stage on Friday, February 27. King Stingray's music weaves together Yolŋu language, hazy guitar lines, and yikdaki (a traditional Indigenous wind instrument made from termite-hollowed branches) to produce one of Australia's most euphoric live acts.

They're joining an already stacked lineup that covers local and international acts of all genres. BlakOut is the festival's program dedicated to spotlighting global First Nations music — starring includes Yolŋu rapper and dancer Baker Boy, Snotty Nose Rez Kids from the Haisla Nation of British Columbia and Māori artist MĀ.

To find more live music, head to the East Perth Power Station each evening for food trucks, live music and First Nations artwork transforming the building's facade.

Audience favourite Astral Weeks Sessions also returns this year. The beloved lineup of secret gigs is back with a surprise artist performance at the Northbridge Tokyo-style listening bar later in February.

Avant-garde, post-punk, death-oompah band and cult cabaret geniuses The Tiger Lillies are also making their return to Perth. The act, inspired by London's seedy underbelly in the 1980s, melds opera with punk in an award-winning way.

But it's not just music. Join Perth Festival's Summit to hear from the world's creative, cultural, and subject leaders on how culture is shaped. Or, join in on the 2025 program breakout: Cine Wonders. Catch award-winning documentaries and films from across the globe, with a program designed specifically for children.

For a futuristic yet educational night out, consider grabbing tickets for Biomass. The exhibition transforms the WA Museum into an interactive gallery featuring VR and sensory installations by artists from around the world.
