Most of us only see our own city in fragments: the commute, the local, the same three brunch spots on rotation. The rest of it, like the gallery you keep meaning to visit or the suburb you only ever drive through, tends to wait for a free day that never quite arrives. So we've teamed up with Honda to give five couples the chance to finally make it happen.

Each winner and their plus-one will be driven around their capital city in a Honda ZR-V for a day of food, shopping and culture, with $500 each to spend on boutique shopping along the way. One winner will be selected from NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

Know where you'd head? Perfect, because to enter, all you need to do is tell us in 25 words or less where you'd go and what you'd get up to in your city if you had a driver for the day.

Want a taster of how you could enjoy your chauffeured day out? Take a peek at the city itineraries below.

Sydney

Sydney's most famous sights can fade into the background when you see them every day, which makes a day spent playing tourist even more fun. Think brunch at Manteiga and a gallery stop at Saint Cloche in the eastern suburbs, then a climb to the top of the Harbour Bridge and a private picnic with the harbour as a backdrop. After dinner, the night heads to the inner west for live music at Lazybones Lounge.

Melbourne

Melbourne's best days out tend to mix art and food culture into one. Start with brunch at the famous Cibi in Collingwood, then visit the National Gallery of Victoria before getting a behind-the-scenes look at the MCG and National Sports Museum. By late afternoon, a private picnic at St Kilda Pier offers a chance to slow down ahead of dinner at Entrécote in Prahran, followed by live jazz at Bird's Basement to round out the night.

Brisbane

Brisbane's river might be the city's main drawcard, but there's plenty to fit into a day on either side of it. Kick things off with brunch at Scout on Petrie Terrace, then take in the galleries at GOMA and get a bird's-eye view of the city on the Clock Tower Tour. The afternoon calls for a self-drive picnic boat on the river, followed by dinner at Bianca in Fortitude Valley and live jazz at Brisbane Jazz Club to finish up.

Perth

In Perth, a sunset over the ocean might get top billing, but there's plenty to fit in before golden hour hits. Grab brunch at Mary Street Bakery in Highgate, then check out the latest at the Art Gallery of Western Australia before heading to Heirisson Island Kangaroo Sanctuary for a quiet escape by the Swan River. A private picnic at Kings Park and Botanic Garden offers time to unwind with skyline views and snacks from Boucla. Then it's on to a three-hatted dinner at Wildflower at COMO The Treasury, before heading to The Ellington Jazz Club for live music to wrap up the day.

Adelaide

Adelaide has a knack for combining good food with a strong cultural streak. Start the day right with brunch at Hey Jupiter in the East End, then get a behind-the-scenes look at Adelaide Oval before heading to Haigh's Chocolates for a factory tour. A private picnic at Adelaide Botanic Garden offers a chance to pause before settling in for the evening at Magill Estate, where a four-hour degustation menu showcases South Australia's incredible produce.

A Day Out, With the Driving Sorted

If you win, you'll be getting around in the Honda ZR-V, with a driver taking care of the journey between stops. Settle into the cabin, put on some music and enjoy the ride while someone else handles the traffic and parking.

If the day leaves you thinking about a city car of your own, the Honda ZR-V hybrid combines electric and petrol power, recovering energy as you drive and decelerate without needing to plug in. Depending on the model grade, features include a Bose sound system, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The 360-degree MultiView Camera helps drivers get a better view of their surroundings when parking, while Honda Connect Gen 2 offers connected features through your phone, including remote locking and unlocking on certain models.

Submit your answer through the entry form above for your chance to win a chauffeured day out in your city for you and a plus-one. And if you need some inspiration for your own day out, our A to Z with Honda ZR-V features 26 city guides covering where to eat, what to do and the local spots worth knowing about.

Entries close Thursday, November 5. See the entry form for full terms and conditions
