May The 4th Be With You Movie Marathon
Go or do not go, there is no try. The marathon runs from Saturday until Sunday, showcasing all six of George Lucas' films in chronological order.
Overview
A long time ago in a cinema far, far away - well, Courtney Place - a group of dedicated fans gather...
May The Fourth be with you, Star Warsians. Another Intergalactic Star Wars Day (May the 4th/May the Force - get it?) is upon us and this year The Embassy Cinema is doing it Tatooine style, playing all six of George Lucas's space opera masterpieces.
The event starts on Saturday, May 3 with Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace and finishes in triumphant style on Sunday, May 4 with Star Wars XI: Return of the Jedi.
This is a fantastic chance for 40-somethings (and other age brackets too) to relive their halcyon childhoods by seeing the greatest ever sci-fi franchise (sorry Trekkers, but you know it's true) on Wellington's biggest, bestest screen.
Make sure you dress up too, the cinema is giving prizes (lightsabers!) for best dressed. But be warned, since it's winter it'll be colder than a Wampa's nipple in that cavernous cinema JUST LIKE SPACE! (Live the dream!) We suggest you wrap up warm and cosy.
Also, get in quick as tickets will sell out faster than you can do the Kessel Run in that rust bucket you're riding round in.
