Why be all ears in a stuffy chamber hall or sweaty dive bar when you can listen to music inside one of the country's most spectacular natural attractions?

Waitomo Glowworm Caves Underground Sounds is a new dining and music experience that will make its debut next Saturday, 13 February. With Valentine's Day in mind, the package experience includes one night accommodation at the Novotel Hamilton Tainui Hotel.

The main event will see ticket holders transported by coach to Waitomo's underground network of glowworm caves. On arrival, there'll be canapes and drinks before a special musical showcase kicks off inside the stunning glowworm cathedral.

The intimate performance will be led by celebrated New Zealand tenor Geoff Sewell. The co-founder of the world's first opera band, Amici Forever, will show off his golden tonsils and test the acoustics of the space by performing a range of operatic classics.

The experience includes a private tour of the subterranean caves to witness the luminescent spectacle and is topped off with a boat ride through the glowworm grotto. Dinner and drinks complete the evening.

Tickets for Waitomo Glowworm Caves Underground Sounds are on sale now through Fortis Events. For more information, visit fortisevents.co.nz.
