The Best New Venues in Uluwatu in 2026
Uluwatu has changed a lot in the last five years. Many holidayers to Bali are now choosing the Bukit Peninsula as their base — either alongside or instead of Canggu and Seminyak — thanks to Uluwatu’s beaches, surf breaks, rugged coastlines, amazing views and fresh seafood.
Of course, with growing tourism comes increased development, and Uluwatu is constantly announcing new places to wine and dine at, whether on the cliffs of Bingin, along the famed Jalan Labuansait (the main street that takes you through Padang Padang to Suluban), or overlooking the pristine waters of Melasti Beach and beyond.
The culinary diversity is wide: whether you’re keen on local Indonesian dishes, wholesome breakfast bowls, late-night tacos or hearty pastas, Uluwatu has it all. Even major restaurant chains have started making their way to the area — like Lola’s (Canggu), Kynd (Seminyak), Yuki (Canggu) and Motel Mexicola (Seminyak, Canggu).

MOTEL MEXICOLA

Motel Mexicola is almost a rite of passage in Bali at this point, with incredible meals turning into unforgettable nights at the venue’s Seminyak and Canggu locations. Now, Motel Mexicola has just opened its doors in Uluwatu in July 2026, bringing Mexican feasting and table dancing to Bingin in one of the area’s most talked-about launches yet.
Expect Baja California influences, with street-food go-tos, shareable plates for the crew and tacos in the mix (don’t miss the Golden Arches taco). The group has also added a series of new seafood dishes fit for Uluwatu, like smoked tuna empanadas, prawn aguachile, and a tuna and scallop tiradito. The grog is just as impressive, from margaritas to the Paloma and The Padre Kino (topping red wine with pandan and blood orange soda).
SALTWOOD

Saltwood has been an instant hit since opening in June 2026, but no matter how many people are there, it never quite feels busy and overwhelming given how spread out and inherently relaxing the venue is. Perched on the cliffs of Bingin and overlooking Dreamland Beach, beanbags and wooden seating create the ultimate gathering spot for breakfasts (we recommend the anchovy toast or acai bowl) and sunsets alike.
Whether you face the ocean solo with a book, rally the crew in a circle of beanbags or grab a meal under the sheltered area, this venue is inclusive and laidback, perfect for friends, solo travellers, families, and, most importantly, furry friends. As to be expected with Uluwatu’s epic sunsets, it’s the perfect place to catch a colourful sky after a big day in Bali.
OSTERIA LUNA
Jl. Pantai Padang-Padang No.140, Pecatu
Osteria Luna is part of Pulau Projects — the same masterminds behind the Japanese favourite in Bali, Yuki, which opened its Uluwatu venue in 2023 just next door. This Italian restaurant is one of those places you go to try, but then find yourself coming back for more, thanks in no small part to what we’re calling the best pasta we’ve had in the Bukit Peninsula. For lunch, Osteria Luna has a 250K IDR promo (just under $20 AUD) that gets you a pasta and either a wine or a cocktail, with gluten-free options available.
We’d recommend the prawn spaghetti or beef ragu in the outdoor seating area to people-watch before walking down to the warungs underneath Single Fin to watch the surfers during sunset. Come dinner time, the venue becomes a candle-lit ambient space perfect for a meal that’s a little more elevated.
OLIVERRA
Umana Bali, LXR Hotels & Resorts, Jl. Melasti, Ungasan
Situated within Umana Bali, Oliverra overlooks the stunning Melasti Beach through an elevated, glass-walled setting. The Sunday Brunch is their recommended time to visit, where for 850,000 IDR per person (around $65 AUD), you are treated to a cold seafood platter of river prawns, fresh oysters, papua crabs, coconut-cured seabream, yellowfin tuna and caviar — and that’s just to get you started.
Several courses follow, including selections like lobster scrambled eggs, beef ragout, octopus with beet foam, kale and smoked eggplant, and Wagyu Tokusen Striploin — to name a few. While an 11am–3pm sitting time might seem like a stretch, you could use every minute to get through all the food. Once you’re done, take the complimentary buggy back to the hotel’s front entrance and then head down to Melasti Beach for a dip, whether on the public beach or at one of the beach clubs along the shoreline, like Tropicla Temptation or White Rock.
PAPI SAPI
Jl. Labuansait, Pecatu
Papi Sapi joined the main strip of Pecatu in 2024, and has been such a hit that it opened in Kuta Lombok just a year later. The open-air restaurant lets you hand-pick your meat from the window, which gets portioned and cooked on the wood-fired grill — from Australian Angus rib-eye to grilled school prawns and grass-fed tenderloin.
If you’re looking for your protein fix in Bali, the vibe at Papi Sapi is hard to ignore — with a relaxed atmosphere, candlelit tables, fairy lights dangling above you and the Uluwatu breeze powering through as you chow down on steaks, seafood and some seriously good-looking burgers. Papi Sapi is the brainchild of the Artisan Group, also responsible for Artisan venues across Bingin, Ungasan, Suluban and Perenanan.
