Fork and Brewer

Come for the beer, stay for the burgers. Or just come for the burgers.

Climb the stairs from Bond Street and come face to face with the custom-built brewery, which is visible from almost every table. Pretty cool. There’s no doubt about it – you’re here for the beer. With forty beers on tap, Fork & Brewer has something to offer both aficionados and amateurs. Thankfully, the staff members are knowledgeable and extremely helpful – they don’t judge you for asking to sample “the one with the spatula tap” and will help you identify a beverage that suits your tastes. The circular bar is an open invitation to meander around and peruse your options and different parts of the interior before making any kind of drinking or seating commitment, which is always reassuring for the more hesitant among us.

Come for the beer, stay for the burgers. Or just come for the burgers. Fork & Brewer know how to do a burger, and they do it well. Stacked high, and with a side of fries – the type depending on which burger you get – the burgers are testament to tried and tested burger traditions. The beef burger comes with either 1 pattie ($19) or two ($24). We recommend you ask the staff for a beer match to suit not just the burger, but also your personal preferences.

A popular after-work haunt, Fork & Brewer is also a bit of an educational institution. Enter thinking Corona and lime is pretty darn good, leave quenched by a dry “grassy” pale golden pilsner, talking about “hops” and chanting “we fear no beer”.
