Angel Olsen

An artist growing up on an equal measure of soda water, soda pop and sleeping with a vintage jukebox in her room.

Overview

It's a bit tricky to tell whether Miss Olsen's music is that of an angel's advocate or of something more woeful. This December, Angel Olsen will be individually rocking up to our cities to share some of her folk-indie-rock affection. Growing up with one foot in the '30s and the other in the '50s, Angel Olsen's sound is grounded in stark, sweet and somewhat deceptive folk music. Recent years have seen many a note of disarming and timeless indie-rock emerge front and centre.

Following the release of her new album, My Woman— a somewhat safer sounding album than her previous 2013 collection, Burn Your Fire For No Witness, Olsen will be appearing at San Fran on December 12 - 13 performing an assortment of new titles such as 'Intern' and 'Shut Up and Kiss Me' songs which explore "the complicated mess of being a woman".

Angel Olsen tastes like punch at a house party, feels like waking up to the sound of coffee being made in the morning— both disorientating but wonderful and sounds like a grunge, poetic, enchanting, punchy and thoughtful artist growing up on an equal measure of soda water, soda pop and sleeping with a vintage jukebox in her room.
