Overview

Wellington's first urban axe throwing experience, Sweet Axe Throwing, opened in 2018 in the bullseye of the city. It has since hosted everything from birthday parties to date nights and social leagues.

Now, the axe-perts are joining forces with the capital's craft beer guides for a blade-throwing, ale-drinking experience. The new experience starts out responsibly with one hour of throwing at Sweet Axe. The game is simple and involves a playoff where guests score points by throwing axes at wooden targets four metres away. Sweet Axe suggests that anyone can throw an axe, no matter the fitness level, and that with expert instruction, anyone can land a bullseye safely within one session.

Guides from Craft Beer Tours NZ will then pick you up for a behind-the-scenes craft beer tour to two of Welly's finest breweries. Across the four-hour experience you'll enjoy no less than eight beers, bar snacks and warm hospitality. Groups of four or more are required to get the event happening.
