Overview

Being Human, an exhibition created by a collective from the Massey College of Creative Arts, aims to explore the shift of human identity in relation to artificial intelligence (AI). Being Project asks how future technological advancements may challenge our very sense of what it means to be human.

Being Human is the first of the exhibition series, inviting the community together through art, design and academic research in a conversation that aims to challenge dystopian narratives and speak to the realities of our shared futures.

The collective spoke to some of the top AI researchers and developers in New Zealand in hopes of sharing educated insights to communities on what artificial intelligence is and how it may affect different components of our lives. How we can start designing more optimistic futures where humans stand proudly at the forefront?

The goal is to simply inspire conversation, educate and change our attitudes surrounding the future of artificial intelligence and human identity. This is, according to Max Tegmark, "the most important conversation of our time". So this collective of young designers is making it a conversation for all.
