No better way to spend your Monday than watching a bunch of wannabe flying artefacts launching themselves out into the Wellington harbour. The annual Birdman Wellington event is back, bringing along a it's flock of crazy DIY engineers who build a variety of artistic flying contraptions and costumes, prying for the prize of best dressed and ultimately gaining the appreciation of the fellow birdwatchers. Will someone actually fly? How far will they go? You will have to find out for yourselves.
The event starts at 11am, and of course features a wide range of food stalls and markets for all to enjoy. Let's hope the weather comes out to play also.
