Overview

The organisers of Wellington's self-guided tequila trail are back at it again. This time, you'll have the opportunity to hop between bars from 19–25 April for the first-ever Gin Gander.

The six-day event is being held between 15 Wellington establishments, from Fortune Favours to Foxglove and Master Kong, all serving their own take on the of-the-moment juniper-flavoured spirit. If you froth over an ice-cold gin and tonic, dirty martini or classic Tom Collins, then this is just the ticket.

Following the official Gin Gander venue guide, gin enthusiasts can pop into any of the participating Kāpura (previously Wellington Hospitality Group) venues and sample a themed cocktail. There are cucumber gimlets, spiced chilli negronis and fizzy peach numbers on the menu.

Themed experiences are also on the agenda. You can drop it like it's hot at Honey Badger Saloon's Snoop Dogg-themed gin and juice party, indulge in a five-drink high tea at Coene's, sit down for a full flight tasting session at Bethel Woods or work through a three-course set menu at Dillinger's — with matching gin cocktails, of course.
