Overview

Christmas officially arrives in the capital this week, with Te Papa set to transform into a festive wonderland.

The country's largest museum is kicking off the Chrissy season with its annual night market on Thursday, November 24, giving Wellingtonians the chance to begin their shopping for prezzies to go under the tree — or perhaps just grab a little something for themselves.

Over 40 vendors from around the country will be selling unique, locally-made gifts, with food vendors and a bar offering set to keep you fed and watered throughout the evening. Live music will also be pumping to keep the festivities rolling.

Entry to the market is free, with face coverings mandatory and gathering limits set due to the current COVID-19 restrictions at level 2.
