Overview

SPCA Wellington is pulling out all the stops this Halloween to leave your hair standing on end.

The organisation's 100-year-old building is the perfect spot for a ghost investigation. The Newtown building started life in 1920 as a hospital for infectious diseases and has since been recognised as one of the most haunted buildings in Wellington.

SPCA Wellington says "Given the number of patients that the hospital has cared for — both animal and human — it wouldn't be surprising to consider that some may have taken up residence in the building in their afterlife.

This Wellington Heritage Week will be your opportunity to go behind-the-scenes at the centre and embark on a paranormal adventure. You'll hear from SPCA's Ros Alsford as she shares the history of the building and her own supernatural experiences that have taken place onsite. From there, it'll be your turn to participate in your own ghost investigation after dark with psychic medium, Kathy McBride.

Tickets includes a drink and snacks on arrival along with a booklet celebrating 100 years of the Fever Hospital. The event runs until 12.30am.
