Overview

Glass Vaults are back with their sophomore album, The New Happy. This is an interesting one — the group's intentions for the album are for their tracks to send any listener into a state of euphoria. The New Happy is built upon the concept of Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, which is meant to induce deep feelings of comfort and security.

Richard Larsen, Rowan Pierce, Bevan Smith, Daniel Whitaker, Ben Bro and Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa, the Wellington men who wrote most of these songs in their studio high above Willis Street, took cues from some time spent in New York recently. Songs like 'Brooklyn' and 'Sojourn' tell stories of girl crushes, whimsy and little boys in the big city.

The album was recorded live over three days, a mammoth effort. The fruit of this new album will be performed, alongside some of their old favourites at Caroline with support from Terror of the Deep and Womb.
