Overview
It's time to party like it's the 1800s with a new horror-filled costume party coming to one of Wellington's stunning heritage venues.
On Saturday, May 28, Old St Paul's church will open its doors for a costume party and screening of the iconic 1957 horror flick The Curse of Frankenstein — best enjoyed in the spooky stunning surrounds of the Gothic Revival heritage building.
To really bring the atmosphere for the occasion, attendees are encouraged to dress as monsters — any that takes your preference, but the likes of zombies, mummies, creatures from the Black Lagoon, Freddy Kruegers, psychopaths, Hulks, Hydes and Pennywise are all encouraged.
While non-costumed monsters are also welcome, if you do dress up you'll be in to win some stellar prizes — and get some once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunities of course.
Antoinette Ratcliffe from The Sick Bay there selling taxidermy art (yes, that's a thing), and monstrously delectable cocktails will be on offer at the bar. A DJ will be spinning tracks to really bring the party vibe, and many more surprises are promised on the night.
Doors to this R18 event open 6.30 pm, while the movie begins 8pm. Tickets start at $25 for general admission, while a 'Fallen Angels' pass (including entry for two, with two cocktails and two hot snacks) will set you back $90.
