Hazey Days at Rita
Spend your balmy summer nights with sublime fare and natural wines.
Overview
What better use of your balmy summer nights, than drinking natural wines and small plates of sublime seasonal fare at Rita? Michael Hazlewood and his partner Emilie are moving in for a month at 89 Aro St for their Hazey Days wine bar and chef's residency.
The pair will serve small plates of Hazle's food, while pairing everything with some of the best real wines to be found in the city. Their love for feeding people with good food and drink is evident in the pairings they've got going on — think everything under the sun for the revolving menu, which changes each day. A day at Hazey Days could bring dishes of Cloudy Bay clams, wholemeal papardelle, natural oysters, or heirloom tomatoes with ricotta and strawberry. It's the perfect case for multiple visits, we think. The small list of natural wines by the bottle and glass mean that the food and wine is perfectly considered.
Hazey Days is operating on a casual, drop in vibe, so bring a group of friends for an evening wine and plate of something, or treat out a date. Or just bring yourself, to be honest. Hazey Days is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 5pm-late, and Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm-late.
