Overview

After finding her feet in the local jazz scene, Auckland singer-songwriter Junelle has stretched her legs into other genres for the release of her debut EP Just This Sky.

The collection of pop, soul and ambient-electronica tracks were co-written, recorded and produced by her partner Abraham Kunin - who usually holds down guitar duties for Home Brew, Esther Stephens, The Means and Coach. Acts that inspired the eight-track release reach as far as Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse and Sam Cooke as well as the production style of UK record label Young Turks.

The duo will be playing an intimate version of Just This Sky at Wellington's own Matterhorn on August 3 with soulful acoustic act Naow.
