Overview

What's better than strawberries and ice cream? Try the sweet delight combined with a good cause. The Hospice Strawberry Festival is back for 2019, hitting select spots in and around Wellington this November and December. The headlining event takes place on Wednesday, 20 November from 9am-4pm at Midland Park.

Now in its 14th year, the event brings tasty treats including chocolate-dipped strawberries, strawberry cupcakes and, of course, strawberry sundaes to your summer day. Along with berry-fueled goodies, you'll find live music and even a delivery service if you want to beat the queues or you're not able to make it down to Midland.

On the Mary Potter online shop you can order five or more sundaes for $6 each, to be picked up at the park or delivered to your location in Wellington's CBD. Through the online portal you can also choose to have your sundae just the way you like it — either dairy-free or with no strawberry sauce.

The Kapiti Coast version of the event comes to Paraparaumu on November 23 and brings with it local food trucks, face painting, burgers, a sausage sizzle, bouncy castle and entertainment from morning right through to the afternoon.

Along with these two festive events, the team will be heading along to the Wellington Pet and Animal Expo, the Kapiti Food Fair and the Porirua Christmas in the City events. All dates and times can be found on the Mary Potter website.
