Overview

Join icon and fashion designer Karen Walker, NZ photographer Yvonne Todd, art writer Martin Patrick and poet Hera Lindsay Bird in conversation for the opening night of Cindy Sherman at the City Gallery.

Sherman is well-known as one of the most influential contemporary photographers of today, with works that challenge modern stereotypes of female representation and the cult of celebrity. The exhibition is huge, spanning each and every space in the building. Large-scale photographic works created since 2000, collaborations with the fashion houses of Balenciaga and Chanel, and a site-specific mural will all showcase Sherman's work in her first NZ solo exhibition in 25 years.

Entry to the panel is free with exhibition entry, a unique opportunity to discuss Sherman's work with a variety of her admirers in the fields of art, fashion and poetry.
